This is one of those books that just doesn’t age. It doesn’t need high-tech content, it’s just a simple story about…well, read it. It could be set in 1900, or 2050 – that’s it’s strength.
So, what does Ludlum bring to it that makes it timeless? A universal story. This was the start of yet another successful franchise, with the Jason Bourne character.
As I write this, it’s 32 years since the book was written in 1980, and 10 years since the movie was made. The movie (and the franchise) stands the test of time too.
